Jessica Sheets - Designer
Background/Education
Jessica grew up and attended school in Medina, Ohio. She so loved art that she focused her studies on art and design, graduating from Medina Sr. High.
Following high school, she attended Virginia Marti College of Fashion and Art. She graduated with her degree in Interior Design. While attending VMC, her class schedule included history of architecture, history of art, history of design, history of furniture, building codes and specifications, space planning, design principles, auto cad and art fundamentals. She became a student member of ASID. In addition to design, she also took courses in marketing, economics, business management and photography.
Experience
During college she worked at a retail furniture store. She had numerous responsibilities which included: the design and layout of a new store, floor plans for show rooms, and purchasing accessories for the show rooms, as well as accessorizing them. Other responsibilities included training sales associates on the concept of design. Since 1994, she has been in the furniture industry as a sales associate and store designer.
After joining the LA-Z-BOY family, she started as a sales consultant and was promoted to Store Designer.
Design Philosophy
Jessica is an excellent listener who listens to all your needs and wants of designing the perfect room for you! Her design philosophy stresses comfort and function in every room. With a strong passion for design she implements balance, proportion and scale in each design.
