Less lumbar support
I have back and kidney problems that require a straight or rounded sitting posture. Lumbar support results in pain and stiffness. This chair has less than most and was the only chair I could find comfortable enough to sit in for any length of time. In all my searching, I noticed that lumbar support was a bigger problem the more the chair was reclined. It would be rather like a bed with a lump under your back. Ideally, I would have gotten the plus model with adjustable lumbar and head rest, but I was in a hurry for pain relief and unwilling to wait for a special order.
This chair also has a particularly comfortable leg rest with smooth and even support. The arm rests have a comfortable slant and tighter curve on the outside edge which lends itself to a natural position of the wrists and fingers. The seat is soft but supportive and higher off the ground than my previous La-Z-Boy. The arm rests are closer to the seat height than my old recliner, which makes this chair more comfortable when I bend my leg and rest my knee against the arm rest. Since I didn't get the adjustable head rest, I need a small pillow behind my head for reading.
