Living on the other side of the world in the Orient for a decade was fascinating, but being so far from familiar things, home and family was challenging. Communication, public transportation, cultural differences made even shopping and eating out a bit of a struggle. After work and other activities, though, I came home to my trusty La-Z-Boy recliner that I'd shipped overseas. There, in that familiar comfort, I felt truly at home, able to relax and regroup, ready once again to face the challenges of the next day. I think of it as an adult version of my beloved childhood teddy bear. With La-Z-Boy's help, I overcame the culture shock which could have threatened my career success, was able to relax and enjoy the most incredible experience of my entire life, living overseas. When I left, I passed the La-Z-Boy on to a soldier and his family, who were ecstatic to get that gently worn symbol of America. Now we are back in the U.S., and have replaced the La-Z-Boy recliner with two La-Z-Boy recliners; I get the one that vibrates, and hubby gets the wall hugger, and the company gets the La-Z-Boy couch that opens up into a bed so comfortable that it is hard to get them to go home! La-Z-Boy has always been a part of our lives, and I cannot imagine a time when it would not be.
