Main Floor Makeover in Stittsville

Designer: Zeina Badawi
Our clients Anne and Gareth Thomas loved the Idea of working with a professional designer to compliment their furniture purchase. It gave them the advantage of not only having beautiful furniture but a designed space that looks like it’s from the pages of a magazine! With a designer comes the knowledge of how to choose the right furniture and determine patterns and colours that work well together. Her expertise gives you peace of mind knowing everything will fit into the room perfectly. The Thomas home was a brand new construction in Stittsville, Ontario. We worked from the blueprints to design their new open-concept space on the main floor of the home.

Before & After – Basement Makeover Ottawa La-Z-Boy designer, Estefanie Schuster first met Andrina Rockwell through the CHEO foundation as our CHEO dream home contact in 2018. They had heard about our in-home design program and wanted to take advantage of this free service. The next meeting was an in-home visit from Estefanie to check out their basement in the Ottawa Greenboro area.

Navan Great Room

Designer: Magaly del Castillo
I was introduced to Debra and Doug at the La-Z-Boy showroom on Cyrville road by our design consultant Cliff Norman. They had fallen in love with the comfort of the Forum power reclining chair, however, they wanted to keep a more sophisticated and updated look in their great/living room. We arranged for an in-home consultation so that I could better understand their style. Nothing gives more info than the actual space we will be working on with our clients.

Redesign in South Glengarry

Designer: Dea Attar
Picture this, a large open concept riverfront home located just outside of Ottawa in South Glengarry. The Morin Family welcomed In-home designer Dea Attar to help them redesign their space. The open concept space has high vaulted ceilings and large windows that let in lots of light with big views out onto the St Lawrence river. It was furnished with some older furniture, and decorated with a small pink rug, some purple and yellow painted walls and a basic white fireplace. The clients were planning to upgrade the kitchen and add built-ins in the space. However, this small renovation turned into a more extensive room makeover that included revamping the entire living and dining area! In the end, the Morin’s goal was to create an elegant timeless space with rustic elements that blend in with their country living.

Modern Interior Design Makeover

Designer: Estefanie Schuster
South of Ottawa, in Kars Ontario lies a beautiful property and a newly built home. Imagine a large open concept room with cathedral ceilings, big windows and a lovely view of the water. When in-home designer Estefanie Schuster arrived at the home of Denise Edwards, it was just finishing up construction. Denise had chosen some finishings and dark wood flooring but it was pretty much a blank slate on which to begin. Denise was looking for designer help, as an empty living and dining space can sometimes be overwhelming. Where do you start? She knew she wanted a light and airy space, a timeless look. Her colour preferences where navy blue, grey and cream. She chose a Renwil sea shell mirror as it looked great against the grey wall and reminded her of her mother-in-law who used to create seashell mosaics. This mirror created a wonderful focal point, highlighted the fireplace and was the perfect place to begin the living room makeover.

Before & After - Arnprior

Designer: Zeina Badawi
Tracy and David came into our La-Z-Boy store in Kanata looking for some furniture for their new house. They were overwhelmed by the large selection of furniture out there and didn’t know where to begin. When in store, they found out about our design service and loved the idea of a one stop shop. An in-house interior designer could help them with everything they needed to design their space, what a concept! Tracy was pleased to hear that we could help her choose the furniture for her entire house. Her preferred design concept style was modern urban. She wanted her open concept space to have a monochromatic colour scheme with a relaxing cohesive look.

Before & After - Orleans

Designer: Dea Attar
Here is a great example of how our in-home designers can work with furniture and accessories you already have and add to them to create a functional and beautiful space. Designer Dea Attar accomplished this with her Orleans living room project. See Before & After Living Room Makeover photos below. This client had already begun the project and needed a designer to help finish the room. She wanted to keep the sofa, new rug and artwork and work around them to complete the look. The room is used occasionally for socializing purposes. As it is the first room you see when you come in to the house, the goal was to give it the WOW factor!

Alta Vista Makeover

Designer: Dea Attar
The client’s room was a mix of burgundy, beige, sage and other earthy tone colours. She wanted a room that was elegant, bright and inviting. The room is used for entertaining and in particular to host book club meetings. Building on the architecture of the house and its location in one of the oldest communities in Ottawa, Dea wanted to create a classic look in an updated way. She decided to opt for a minimalistic transitional design. Dea used whites, greys and soft blue accents to build a zen environment that is relaxing and bright. She also played with different materials and textures to create a rich environment with subtle contrasts. Thus, the use of leather, fabric, stone, glass and metal.
